Caleb Johnson Architects is dedicated to designing beautiful, useful and lasting structures. We are inspired by opportunities to solve problems through thoughtful design. Our work is made up of residential and commercial projects that allow us to work closely with our clients.
Our designs begin with a thorough understanding of our clients' needs and desires. A methodical process at the onset ensures we recognize all the parameters and inherent challenges the project presents. We proceed in a creative but predictable pattern. Our preference is to begin assembling the architect/client team as early as possible and to stay with the clients until the project is built and occupied.
Our passions include simplicity, naturally aging materials, pleasing proportions, and well-organized floor plans. We are also particularly interested in high-performance building envelopes that keep warmth and moisture in check. Local, reused, and low maintenance materials are reoccurring themes in our work. Founded in 2003, we hold onto a youthful sense of idealism visible in each project. While we’ve been building many of our projects since the beginning, we began officially general contracting the majority of our work in 2008. We have found that not only does the design/build model simplify the lives of our clients, but also allows for smoother coordination and control over those specific design details critical to a project’s success.
